These cities have been added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
During the tour, we are going to visit Languedoc - a historical region in the south of France, and also an ancient wine-making region. In this region with a rich architectural heritage and unique cultural traditions, there is something to see. The route has two points:
Carcassonne. It is held by an ancient medieval walled city, is the property of mankind, and is protected by UNESCO. About 10 million tourists visit it annually. Many films were shot in this fortress, such as: "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" with Kevin Costner, "Joan of Arc", one of the parts of "Harry Potter". Also, the famous Walt Disney lived in it, making his sketches here. You will make a sightseeing tour with a professional guide, and if you wish, you can visit the Museum of the Inquisition (Musee de l'Inquisition) to see firsthand the instruments of Jesuit torture. In addition, you will have the opportunity to taste the famous wines of the region, and the guide will recommend cozy restaurants where you can dine. There are many souvenir shops in the castle, so nobody will return empty-handed!
Toulouse. The city, which was once the capital of Duchy of Gascony, is the birthplace of the famous D'Artagnan. The ancient city stands on the Garonne river and gives way in size to Paris, Marseille, and Leon only. It is also called the Pink City of France. Narrow medieval streets of Toulouse repeat the curves of the Roman settlement, which was once here. You will be impressed by a sightseeing tour of the historical part of the city, during which you will visit Capitole Square, the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, Notre-Dame de la Daurade, and the Church of the Jacobins.
Besides, you will have free time to visit the shops.
