Albi (Albiga) is a World Heritage site, the main city of the Tarn department in southern France. An old 6-arched bridge and a new 5-arched one, 160 meters long, lead across Tarn. There is the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, which contains the world's largest collection of paintings by the artist. And also - a bronze statue of the famous explorer Laperouse born near Albi in 1843.
The sights we will see include:
- the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Cecilia (with an old organ), built in 1282-1512, painted with ancient frescoes;
- the Eglise collegiale Saint-Salvy;
- the prefecture's building, similar to a fortress, the former palace of the Albigeois comtes, where the archbishops lived for a long time, and where a hospital and a theater were;
- the Toulouse-Lautrec Art Museum.
